The first and the most important key is to be patient. Be at his/her level. He is not a normal child; please don’t forget this important fact.

He is weak at his mental capabilities and you are aware of this fact, giving him love, care and attention can make him better and you are aware of this fact as well.

Still if you scold him, taunt him or confront him (beating is even worse) can make his condition worse and then it’s your fault, not his.

2. BE A FRIEND OF YOUR CHILD:

Don’t be someone who can drain the blood out of child’s body. Be a friend to him. Make him feel comfortable; make him feel that the world is secure all around him.

Be open to him, be responsive. Let him tell you all worries; let him share his so called secrets.

3. STAY IN TOUCH WITH HIM, THE MAXIMUM YOU CAN:

Be with him. Give him your maximum attention. It’s usually the mother whom the child wants to see as the first thing in morning.

Wake him up yourself, greet him, kiss him and ask politely to leave the bed. If school going child then, make him ready and try to drop him at school, yourself. Pick him from school. Make lunch for him.

Give him time in afterschool hours. Read him a bedtime story at night. Give him your maximum time.

4. GIVE HIM A BEDROOM CLOSE TO YOURS:

ADHD suffering children usually have disturbed sleep or insomnia. They are even prone to have nightmares. You have to check him from time to time.

An ADHD child desires to see his parents around him all the time. Make sure you give enough time and attention, while he is having his meal, doing his homework and having any activity.

Even when watching cartoons or any TV programs, accompany him so that you can have check, on what he sees, and can even point out the good and educative things.
